Pets can be trained, needs praise and scolding, and needs constant attention. Taking care of pets in the Sims 2 is almost exactly the same as in real life. The number of pets you can keep in a household depends on the number of human sims living there. Taking care of so many pets can be challenging but who can say no to cute little puppies and kittens? If you are worried about overcrowding, then rest assured that it will never come to that. In some instances, the friendship between pets can evolve into something more and before you even know it, you already have a bunch of baby animals under your roof. Just like human sims, your pets can also interact with other animals and get friendly with them. You should have a balanced way of treating and approaching your pets. To avoid this from happening, keep a close eye on them and never forget to praise them when needed but that does not mean you should refrain from scolding them. This can lead them to destroy things inside your house like your furniture. When you leave them unsupervised for long periods of time, they can become rowdy and wild. Also, dogs and cats have the tendency to act independently.
In most cases, they will learn and adopt the same attitude your human sim has. Your pet’s behavior will also depend on the way you treat them and spend time with them. These two animals, however, prefer to stay inside their cages most of the time. This does not mean that the selection of pets is limited to canines and felines only. Just spend a few hours of training and they will be quick to master these actions. Some of these tricks are roll over, handshakes, and sitting down. Of course, you can als o train them to do tricks just like in a normal owner and pet relationship.
